Faith is not believing that God CAN do it - everybody knows that - but that He WILL do it.

> What is the Bible? The Bible is a manual of faith in God that has been given to us...
The Bible is God’s burning bush. It is there that we encounter Him and there that He speaks. How we react is proof of who we are. As a book, the Bible is in a class of its own, distinct from every other book ever written. It brings God into focus and brims over with His greatness. It is drama, the drama of time, a window through which we see God striding through the centuries with awesome power and majesty. ***We must be clear about one thing: that the purpose of Scripture is to show us God and inspire our trust in Him. The Bible is a manual of faith in God that has been given to us “so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim 3:17). It is God’s voice in the burning bush calling out to me and you as he called out to Moses – urging us to surrender our questions and doubts, abandon our misgivings and go forward with Him. The path will open up as we walk, just as the sea opened up before Moses. Blessed? REINHARD BONNKE You can’t just ‘have faith’, that is, faith in nothing. Faith is trust. There has to be something to trust, and also to trust with good reason. “Blind faith” is reckless stupidity. How can you put your soul into the hands of an unknown deity? There is a God Christians believe in, and He is the One who revealed Himself in Jesus Christ (John 1,14). When people talk about God they usually mean the Bible God, but they don’t know enough of the Bible to understand what He is like. No other book has the right to tell us or how to approach Him. If it wasn’t for the Bible we wouldn’t know there was a heaven, so how can anybody else tell us how to get there? Or who will be allowed inside? People have all kinds of guess work, but the Bible itself says that only those washed in the blood of Jesus even dare enter (Revelation 7,14). Other opinions are worthless arrogance. Can we imagine that the Creator would wish His creatures to grope in the darkness to find their own way? Hard reasoning is flint that only makes sparks, not light. God says “Let there be light”, and brought the light of life to us through Jesus Christ “the light of the world.”
God bless you. REINHARD BONNKE > Faith allows God to change providence and to go into miracle action Himself
Faith is always faith in God. Action may appear to onlookers as self-confidence, but it is God-confidence. Conviction that God is with you inspires deeds that normally would not be dared. Self-confidence borders on egotistical pride. The two forms of confidence are exemplified particularly in 1 Samuel 17. Goliath trusted in his own bulk and prowess. David said “You come against me with sword, spear and javelin.” Israel’s unarmed adolescent as a challenger looked like a studied insult to Goliath. “Am I a dog that you come at me with sticks?” But David did not come with sticks. He said “I come in the name of the Lord Almighty.” David’s trust in God made it an unequal duel – Goliath against God, an immortal story. Whether the stone that killed Goliath traveled with supernatural force or not, David knew it could be so. Faith brings more than confidence. It brings God on your side and taps Divine resources. Men and women excel, do better than their best. Faith allows God to change providence and to go into miracle action Himself. Blessed? REINHARD BONNKE > All of God's promises that were made to others become ours by faith!
All of God's promises that were made to others become ours by faith. They are made to measure promises, tailored to our needs. They are as much for you as if God personally had appeared and spoken to you, your only requirement is to put them on. The Lord's question was, and is, "How long are ye slack to possess the land?" (Josh 18,3) Joshua said, "There remains much land to be possessed." (Josh 13,1) In fact, they didn't yet own one acre. The only land remaining to be possessed was what Joshua had made up his mind to have. It was theirs by faith. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for." (Heb. 11,1) He had a vision, laid claim to it, and went ahead to get it. Follow his example. REINHARD BONNKE > FAITH CANCELS FEAR!
"By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command" (Heb. 11:23). Just think of what that involved. The Egyptian state and Pharaoh, its head, had made it illegal to keep a Hebrew baby-boy. By law, such children were to be killed at birth. Soldiers moved around to carry out this order. What terror and grief there must have been! Then Moses was born. His parents looked upon this lovely son, and decided to defy the law and hide the baby. "By faith . . . they were not afraid.” Officers of the law were around, and their footsteps were heard stopping at their very door, seeking the child's life! Who would not shake in their shoes if armed men were waiting, ordered to kill their baby? Yet, "they were not afraid.” This is a glorious truth: FAITH CANCELS FEAR. Their faith may have looked naive and foolish. But the situation was exactly what God likes. He delights to do the impossible. God bless you. (REINHARD BONNKE) > Have Faith in God!
Hebrews 11 says that the “elders” gained their place in Scripture by acting on their faith. It was not because of their saintliness. Sermons are preached about the virtues of such men as Moses and Abraham, but the Holy Spirit spotlighted them for their faith only. Think of Abraham’s visit to Egypt! He was ordered out of the country in disgrace. Faith made these men what they were, whether bold, or humble, or patient. Faith is the virtue producer. Faith produces good works, but good works do not produce faith – just as milk produces butter, but butter does not produce milk. Congregations are exhorted to imitate the patience of Job, the humility of Moses, or the courage of Daniel. That is fine, but useless unless the means are shown – faith in God. Faith made them the people they were. It made them men of initiative, enterprising and resourceful. Have faith in God. REINHARD BONNKE We hear some people say they have no faith, as if nature made them that way, blaming their genes.
In fact it is not an explanation but an admission of an attitude. Christ said "only believe", implying we can believe as an act, a decision. So not believing is a decision also. God bless you. REINHARD BONNKE Jesus clearly said, “they shall lay hands upon the sick and the sick will be healed.” (Mark 16)5/31/2012 Many churchmen and medical doctors have opposed divine healing. They have made much of those who are "disappointed" and who are not immediately healed. They have conveniently forgotten that doctors disappoint millions. Nearly everyone in the graveyard has been to a doctor first, yet nobody would be so foolish to demand the closing of all hospitals!
Some church folk object to divine healing simply because some are not healed, and so do not minister to the sick at all. This leaves everybody unhealed! Where is compassion, or obedience to the Scriptures? Jesus clearly said “they shall lay hands upon the sick and the sick will be healed.” (Mark 16) Let’s obey His word. Let’s trust Jesus. REINHARD BONNKE The phrase, “I will,” occurs about 4 000 times in the Bible, and God says it far more than
everybody else put together! In the New Testament, almost everything is said by Jesus, and He says constantly what He will do. Christ came to fulfill the Father’s “I will.” Therefore His will is supreme. When Jesus said, “I am willing,” to the leper, it showed what kind of will it was (Math. 8,3). His will is good, merciful, positive. And the Bible declares God’s eternal will. There would be little point in telling us what His will was if it weren’t the same today. We know God by what He DOES. He is a God of activity, unlike other gods, who do nothing. To have faith in God means to have faith in a God who acts. When God says, “I will,” it forms a covenant. (Genesis 9:8-10) God bless you.
